Based in Maplewood, NJ, Kathryne Hall creates public art designed to evoke feelings of joy and surprise in the viewer. Since 2007 she has produced large scale public installations in New York City, both temporary and permanent. Her temporary sculptures are based on her interest in addressing themes of sensory perception, architectural function and the instability of the urban environment, while her permanent murals show her focus on bright, graphic designs. Her work has been featured in many publications, including The New York TimesTime Out New York, Powerhouse Presents and others.
